The World's Best Work Measurement Tool is now...ONLINE!
|
MaxiMOST is used to measure ‘longer’ cycle activities, typically 2 minutes to more than several hours in length. Activities that are non-repetitive or vary widely from cycle to cycle like setups, heavy assembly, maintenance or utilities lend themselves to the MaxiMOST system. Aircraft and locomotive maintenance are common industries that use MaxiMOST.

MOST was developed by Kjell Zandin and H. B. Maynard and Company, Inc. in 1974. The MOST Work Measurement System originated from another predetermined motion time system called Methods Time Measurement (MTM). MOST does not require that tasks be broken down into the finite detail of MTM, focusing rather on grouping together the basic motions that frequently occur into predefined ‘sequence models’. Using these sequence models ensures a higher level of user consistency and accuracy. The MOST Work Measurement Technique was considered revolutionary because it allowed the user to measure work much more quickly than its’ predecessor MTM, while still maintaining a high level of accuracy.
